Comments: The unexpected number of Samoans in Wangaratta

So the TV was on in the background last night and I heard "Wangaratta, Beechworth & Yackandandah" all mentioned in the same sentence. This was such a rare thing that for a split second I thought Channel 10 had finally discovered Sofo and reported on it. But apparently they were talking about the fires. Are you in Yack? Are you dealing with fires on top of the war plans? And where is the elderly trestle table?

Just wondering if everything is okay in Yackandandah in lieu of the bushfires.

I came back to Melbourne a few days ago. I woke up in Yackandandah on Sunday morning in a sea of smoke, which was coming from the major fire at Mt. Bogong, 60 kilometres away.

The smoke seemed to be nature's way of saying "go somewhere else." So I did.

I've left some valuables in Yack, and I'm tempted to get back up there and rescue them.
